The male lead in this year’s musical, Legally Blonde, will be played by sophomore Brayden Biersner. Brayden plays Warner, a law school student who is followed by his ex-girlfriend, Elle, when he goes off to school. Brayden has never been in a musical, but he has been in a play. He’s never had a substantial lead role, so with this being his first lead role and musical, it is very exciting for him. Brayden says, “I am nervous about my solo/duet, “Serious”, because I’ve never performed solo in front of a crowd.” When he tried out, he didn’t try out for any specific part, so getting the lead role was a shock to him. He was, however, confident he’d get a bigger role because he’s been in play and he’s in choir.
In the storyline of the play, Elle’s goal is to win him back, but he had decided to break up with her because he needed to be sophisticated rather than date a “dumb blonde” kind of girl. Elle ends up attending the same school as Warner so she too can become smart and sophisticated.
Opening night of the play is October 31st at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available at the door.
