BHS Principal Byam sees spirit week as a necessity in school. “The kids need to be able to let loose some of their excitement and use their creativity to get revved up for the big game,” he said, “Homecoming week is a great time to express the Toreador Way.”
Students and teachers love celebrating homecoming week. Online learning teacher Billie Dow said, “The homecoming assembly brings spirit into the school and leads all the students to participate.” They see it as a time to have a little extra fun in school. “Sometimes school seems a little boring once it gets going after summer. Homecoming is a fun way to put a bit of spark in the teenagers,” said sophomore Rachel Lease.
The homecoming football game will be held Friday October 17th at 7 p.m on the Goeppinger field. The homecoming dance will be held Saturday October 18th, doors opened at 7:30 p.m. in the BHS gym.
