Due to the introduction of chromebooks in the Boone School District, students have been experimenting with them and starting to grasp how to exactly use them, but don’t exactly know everything. The high school tech team, a group of students who fix chromebooks and Ipads for other students, have decided to try and fix exactly that.
Using a sitcom type format, a small group of people have decided that the best way to educate students is to grab their attention with something that they would find both humorous yet helpful at the same time.
The head student conducting the videos, sophomore Levi Patterson, has decided to put together and script everything to ensure the balance of educational and humorous is equal.
“We’ve got a lot of stuff going on now, doing stuff with the sitcoms and tutorials, basically we’re just trying to educated people on chromebooks and make it funny for them.” Patterson says.
The team has decided to base the sitcom off of the television show The Office, which first began airing in late March of 2005 and ended in mid May of 2013.
“I think it’s gonna be pretty funny, I get slapped a lot, So it’ll be pretty interesting,” sophomore Dhruv Patel says.
This will be shown throughout the high school, specifically so students understand how to fix small problems by themselves.
“These videos are to teach the general public about tech, and how to fix computer problems by themselves, so that us at the tech team can focus on problems that need to be worked on by professionals,” sophomore Cody Becker says.
