On September 15th, at 6:30 pm, the Boone High school FFA program had an event at the Boone County Fairgrounds for the FFA Fall kickoff. According to Mr. Fitzgerald, FFA adviser, “The FFA has had this event every year to liven up the FFA members to get them ready for the progress of the year.”
Members and their families gathered at the new Boone FFA building at the fairgrounds for a festival of fun, including food and talking about what is happening over the school year in FFA.
¨It is a get together to tell about what is going to happen over the school year in FFA and what has happened over the last 4 year period in the program,” said Mr. Fitzgerald.
“FFA has fun activities and is not all business”, said Senior Cade Burma, president of the FFA program. “There is a fun atmosphere and the program works together closely with farmers and field trips for the future.”
The meeting is also a way to begin engaging new members into the program and building relationships with experienced members of the club.
Burma also stated, “over a hundred members and their families have attended this gathering for food, fun and getting to know each other ” Vice president Jackson Zehr added, “the fall kick off was a huge success and the FFA group hopes that this gathering has an impact on the members and their siblings.”
