From video games to Dungeons and Dragons, Boone’s inner geek plans to shine Friday, November 6th. All gamers, geeks, and nerds will gather in the auditorium and commons from 4-10 after school.
People will be cosplaying/dressing up as characters in spirit of the Geek Marathon. Others will be contributing to the games and role plays provided. A role play game that will be provided is Dungeons and Dragons (D&D). Groups will attempt to get the whole way through to the boss at the end.
Video games and board games will be out in the wide selection. Video games like Super Smash Bros. could be played on the big screen in the Commons. With the different types of things student can bond with others. Or possibly beat others at their own game.
The whole movie series of Harry Potter was provided last year in the Auditorium, it will most likely not be provided this year. Another series of movies may take it’s place, it’s always a possibility.
The main reason as to why Geek Marathon goes on is to not just please the gamers of Boone High. It is to raise money for children who are in the hospital long term. The money donated and raised at the Geek Marathon goes towards comic books, video games, etc. the things the kids want while they stay at the hospital. This fundraiser was collected as much as $1,000.
