The Boone High Library is promoting reading in unique and exciting ways. Their goal is to promote all kinds of writing and to inspire other students to share their thoughts.
The library is asking students to come to the library to be recorded about their favorite book or even books to be shown for other students to watch and see.
Many libraries have done this for years for promotional reasons. Boone did a version of this a few years ago and put it on their old website but wanted to open up the opportunity for students to do this again. The library will continue to do this until the end of this month.
Library staff Scott Keisel said, “It would be nice to make this a regular feature they could run on BTV throughout the year! It would be nice if we could get as many students as possible to participate. This way we can promote reading to a wide range of students.”
There has been over a dozen students that have taken part so far and they are expecting to get much more before the end of the month.
Boone TV will help the library with this by doing a segment. They are currently working on a new district library page that will have the videos available along with several other new features that not only benefit students but parents as well. This way the library can constantly update the videos on students that wish to talk about what they are reading.
The library staff is trying to promote reading with the brand new library we got this year. Stop in the library to be recorded about a favorite book.
