As the year comes to a close, seniors are getting ready to plan for their future, as they decide which college to attend, and which career path they are interested in. One of these seniors is Jade Myers. Myers has decided to attend Iowa State next fall to continue her education. Myers says she is interested in studying business and finding a career that she will thoroughly enjoy doing every day and that also fills her potential and uses her intellectual skills.
As Myers thought back about what she will miss about Boone High she said, “I'll miss seeing the people I grew up around, even if it's people I didn't really talk to it was nice having that familiar sense of belonging. I'll also really miss the football games and the dances. However, I won't miss the lower level of maturity and getting up early every day.”
As she prepares for college she is starting to get worried. Myers said, “I'm worried about if the random roommate I'm assigned will be someone I'll not get along with and also worried about making sure I don't procrastinate on my homework assignments I am assigned.”
Myers said she is going to try and find a job on campus and and that she plans on joining clubs. Myers said, “I chose to live in the dorms because I heard that it's a lot easier to meet people and you'll always be around for things to do with everyone and it sounds like there's fun floor activities against the different floors and it'll be really convenient to be there on campus and give me experience away from home.”
As Myers is excited to start her new adventure she is also sad to leave everyone and everything she has ever known.
