After high school, senior Kayla Williams will be attending Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) to continue her education. Williams plans to major in nursing in order to become a nurse in the Operating Room, Emergency Room, or in flight.
Williams added, “I have had 2 knee surgeries and seeing what the OR nurses do to prep and make sure everything flows well is fascinating. They have to be very organized, which I am. I have also been inspired by a family friend who is a Flight Nurse. She has told me all about it and I think the diversity from day to day would be perfect for me! Plus I love to fly!”
Williams has been involved in National Honor Society, 4-H, dance at Carol Renae Dance Studio, Choir, and band during high school.
Williams said, “I'll miss seeing my friends everyday! I'll also miss all of the sporting events especially football games! I am also excited to see what is in store for me and see what will happen after now. I have been inspired by many things.”
Williams advice to freshmen would be to take as many DMACC classes they can, as many elective classes they can, and be as involved as they can.
Williams advice for upcoming seniors would be to enjoy every last memory because they'll all be gone before they know it.
Many people are getting read to head off for college, and Williams has her after high school years planned out.
