Boone High School’s annual Homecoming dance is quickly approaching- and with all the festivities is the announcement of the 2015-2016 Homecoming Court. Selected by popular vote are five Senior boys and five Senior girls, who will all be once again voted upon, this time the outcome producing just two, a new Homecoming King and Queen for Boone High.
This year’s nominees for King are: Daniel Anderson, Cade Burma, Brigham Campbell, Jackson Hull and Nolan Newcomb. The nominees for Queen are: Kennedey Bass, Sarah Heiller, Erin Kinne, Claire Moline and Carlie Romig.
Kennedey Bass is a Varsity football and basketball cheerleader. Along with this she participates in drill team, diving, Scholastic Honor Society and Honor Roll. After school Bass takes part in dance. Next year, she plans to attend the University of Iowa, and hopes to become a cheerleader for the Hawkeyes. Academically, Bass will be majoring in Pre-Dental with a minor in business, with plans to later attend Dentistry school.
Sarah Heiller is involved in Student Council, and resides in the role of Student Body President. She participates in cross country, drill team, track, FFA, National Honor Society, and Scholastic Honor Society. Heiller is an Academic Letter recipient and apart of Honor Roll. After school, she is a member of Dance and 4H. Heiller plans for next year are to attend Iowa State University and to pursue a major in Animal Science a well as double minor in Spanish and Meat Science.
Erin Kinne is a Varsity football and basketball cheerleader. She is a member of the drill team, a Freshman Focus tutor and a member of both Scholastic Honors Society and National Honors Society. Kinne has been a dancer at Behn’s Centre of Dance for 15 years. Next year, she plans to attend the University of Iowa, where she will double major in Finance and Marketing, with the intention to continue on to get her MBA.
Claire Moline is the Co Captain of Varsity basketball and football cheerleading, softball and track. She is a recipient of the Varsity B award and the Academic Letter. Moline participates in National Honor Society, Scholastic Honor Society, GRIP mentoring, orchestra and Honor Roll. Next year she plans to attend the University of Iowa, with intentions to major in Pre-Physician Assistance and minor in Spanish.
Carlie Romig participates in both volleyball and tennis. She is a member of Students Against Destructive Decisions or SADD. Romig plans to attend the University of Iowa with the intent to become a Pharmacist.
Daniel Anderson is a member of the football, basketball, tennis and baseball teams. Anderson is Student Body Treasurer, and also participates in National Honor Society and lifting. He is a recipient of the Academic Letter and is a member of the Varsity B club. Anderson plans to attend the University of Iowa next year with a Pre-Med major.
Cade Burma is the Captain of the Wrestling team and the Chapter President of Boone High's FFA program. He is a member of Peer Helpers and a GRIP Mentor. Burma plans to attend the University of Iowa next year to study Business Management, and aims to works to earn a Masters in Business Administrations.
Brigham Campbell participates in football and rugby. He is a trainer for the lifting program. Next year, Campbell plans to attend a mission through his church, but the year afterward he intends to attend Life University in Georgia to pursue either chiropractic or physical therapy, and continue his rugby career.
Jackson Hull is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society and Scholastic Honor Society. He participates in football and baseball, and has received both the Academic Letter and been on the Honor Roll. Hull intends to attend a four year college or university next year, where he hopes to continue his baseball career and study athletic training.
Nolan Newcomb participates in baseball, and is very active in the schools lifting program. He is apart of National Honor Society, Scholastic Honor Society and is a recipient of the Academic Letter. Newcomb plans to play college baseball next year, at an undecided school.
The winners will be crowned during the coronation assembly on Friday, October 2nd, at 1:15 P.M.
