Boone High School’s 2016 winter formal dance is coming up, and the winter formal court was announced not long ago.
The nominees for king are; Dylan Appenzeller, Jacob Escher, Elijah Hicks, Jacob Smiley, and Storm Wagner. The nominees for queen are; Macie Camenisch, Joey Cornelis, Bridget Good, Payton Lyons, and Camryn Wigert.
Dylan Appenzeller is involved in G.R.I.P Mentoring, a member of the Honor Roll, Fellowship for Christian Athletes, and Baseball. He plans on going to the University of Iowa to major in Health and Human Physiology with an intention of becoming a physical therapist. Once Appenzeller get’s his bachelor's degree, he aims to go into the Doctor of Physical Therapy program to get his DPT degree. His favorite memory from Boone High School was playing at principal park in the baseball state tournament.
Jacob Escher is involved in soccer, a member of the National Honor Society, and serves as the senior class Vice President. Escher’s plan after high school is to major in psychology at the University of Iowa with a minor in counseling or athletic training. His favorite memory from high school was when he knocked the exit sign off with a basketball freshman year.
Elijah Hicks is a member of the track team. He plans on continuing his track career in college, and he is currently deciding between UNI Lorris or Wichita state. Hicks is planning on studying business with an intention on becoming something business oriented. His favorite memory from high school was running at state track last year.
Jacob Smiley participates in cross country and track. He serves as the student council President and is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. After high school, Smiley plans to attend Kirkwood Community College in Iowa City to study criminal justice with an intention of becoming a police officer. His favorite memory from High School is being a part of the student section at all the games.
Storm Wagner is involved in National Honor Society, Scholastic Honor Society, Band, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Athletic Training, Baseball, GRIP Mentoring, and Thursday morning bible study in Mrs. Grotzke's room. His plan after high school is to attend a four year college or university and major in Pre-Med with a minor in Worship Arts and continue his career in baseball. His favorite high school memory was playing baseball at the state tournament.
Macie Camenisch was a football cheerleader for three years and is a wrestling cheerleader this year. She is involved in DECA and the National Honor Society. Her plans after high school are to attend Iowa State University and major in fashion merchandising. Camenisch’s favorite memories from Boone High School are the friday night football games.
Joey Cornelis is involved in tennis, volleyball, National Honor Society and peer helpers. Cornelis’s plan after high school is to attend Iowa State University to study accounting with intentions of becoming an accountant. Her favorite memory from Boone High School is cheering in the student section for various sporting events.
Bridget Good participates in tennis, National Honor Society, swing choir and serves as the student council secretary. After high school she is planning to attend Iowa State University to major in fashion merchandising with a minor in business. Good’s favorite memories from Boone High School is getting ready for football and basketball games with her friends, traveling with them to the away games and cheering in the student section for Boone.
Payton Lyons is a cheerleader and participates in track. She plans to go to Iowa State University and try out for the 2016 cheerleading team while majoring in Kinesiology. Lyons’s favorite memories from high school are without a doubt the dances.
Camryn Wigert is a wrestling cheerleader. Her plans after graduating high school are to attend DMACC and then transferring to Iowa State University. She is not sure what she is studying yet. Wigert’s favorite memories from Boone High School are all the different dances.
The coordination will be Saturday, February 6th at 8 PM in the auditorium of Boone High School. The dance will follow.
