Any person who is even remotely a fan of college basketball knows that this year’s season is a mess. Southern Methodist being the last undefeated team in the field of Division I basketball finally loss their first game in a matchup against the Temple Owls.
In the AP Top 25, the best ten teams in the nation have a combined record 167 wins and 26 losses. There have been five number one teams in the nation this year. It’s madness already and it is not even March.
There have been many surprising breakout teams such as the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Providence Friars, and the Indiana Hoosiers. There are some disappointing teams that we expected a lot from like, the Kentucky Wildcats, the Duke Blue Devils, the Wichita State Shockers, and the Louisiana State Tigers even with the Wooden Watch Player of the Year, Ben Simmons.
The most effective player in college basketball right now is Ben Simmons who plays for LSU. He’s averaging 19 points per game, 12 rebounds per game, and 5 assists per game. The player who has been really impressive is Kris Dunn from Providence College. His stats are 16 points per game, 6 rebounds per game, and 7 assists per game.
If you’re not a fan of basketball, I would advise you to start watching college basketball.
