Boone volleyball team defeats the Carlisle Wildcats Tuesday, October 15th. The game was held in Carlisle as it was a pink out and senior night for the Wildcats. The Toreadors won in three sets.
The first set for Boone started off strong. The Toreadors gained an early lead over the Wildcats, giving them head start going into the match. The Toreadors held the steady lead over Carlisle throughout the match, pulling out the win 25-13.
The Toreador’s second followed the first match very similarly. The Toreadors once again started off strong and gained a commendable lead over the Wildcats. They continued to increase their lead throughout the match, winning 25-11. The Toreadors once again came out strong gaining a quick lead. Boone continued to keep the lead steady. They won over the Wildcats 25-13.
Senior Mariah McPartland once again had a great night for the Toreadors. She had 19 kills for Boone. Along with McPartland, Senior Serena Sandvig had 11 kills for the Toreadors. Sophomore, Carlie Romig had 21 digs for the Toreadors. Freshman Claire Sandvig also had a good night for the Toreadors with 6 kills.
Senior Carrie Overland says, “We’re starting to really work well together as a team. We getting good wins, making us more confident going into regionals.” Also, sophomore Romig agrees with Overland saying, “I really like the way were looking going into the end of the season and regionals. We have a lot of confidence.”
The Toreadors will square off against the Bluejays of Perry on Thursday, October 23. It will be held at Perry High School, starting at 7:15.
