The Boone volleyball team prepares for Regionals this Thursday, October 30th at 7:00 PM. Boone will play the winner of Humboldt vs Webster City. The game will be held at Boone High.
The Boone volleyball team has had an outstanding 2014 season, but are still hoping to make it to the US Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids. They have been preparing all year for this opportunity. Boone’s 32-6 record has gave them much confidence going into postseason play. Also, considering two of the six teams Boone has lost to is ranked in the top ten for the state of Iowa.
Senior Carrie Overland says, “We have been working extra hard in practice knowing that we will have to play two good teams to be able to go to state. We’ve also been trying to work together as a team and always try to keep looking forward, and keep our energy up throughout the whole game.” Senior Bailey Schminke also says, “One of our main goals since our very first year has been making it to state. We keep getting closer and closer each year and hopefully this is finally the year where we will make it.”
Overland also states, “I really think our team couldn’t be more prepared and ready for these last couple games. Since we have seven seniors on the team, we all know this is our last chance and so were going to give it our all.”
Come support the Boone Toreador volleyball team as they take on the Wildcats of Humboldt or the Webster City Lynx this Thursday, October 31st.
