The Boone Toreadors (0-5) started the season with a rough patch, but hoped to turn things around against the highly ranked Carroll Tigers (5-0). Boone held the Tigers to just 14 points in the first quarter. The Tigers came out of the locker room and turned the intensity up and by adding 29 points to their lead. The Tiger defense held Boone to zero points throughout the whole game with a final score of 44-0.
In the first half, the Toreadors held the #1 team in the district to just seven points in the first quarter and an additional seven points in the second half. The Toreadors were hanging tough and needed a few well executed play to put them back into the game going into halftime.
Boone’s defense was still executing well in the second half until the Tigers fought down the field and scored. Twenty seconds later they did the same, they were making Boone's comeback hopes dying. After two penalties the Tigers were kicking off Boones 35 yard line. The Tigers kicked off and Boone recovered but Carroll tackled them in the endzone for a safety.
In the 4th quarter the Tigers pulled away even more by tacking on 14 more points. Boone fell to 0-6 for the year and their next competition is the Algona Bulldogs which is behind Boone, also at 0-6.
