Boone Girls Swimming and Diving had a solid showing at the North Central Conference Championships this past weekend. They managed to finish in 3rd place with a team score of 248.
Junior Kennedey Bass took home the Conference Diving crown, while Senior Haiden Jennings received runner-up honors. They will compete for spots in the State Meet this Thursday, October 30th at the Regional diving meet in Johnston.
In the 200 yard Medley relay, Boone placed 4th with a time of 2:15.41. This team was made up of Sophomores Anne Marie DeVries, Erin Kokemiller, Madelynn Santi, and Senior Kate Kokemiller. In the Individual Medley portion of the meet, Erin Kokemiller finished in 2nd place with a time of 2:38.81. Santi received 3rd place honors with a time of 2:41.15. Later in the meet, the Toreadors earned a 3rd place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay at 1:59.65. That was a team best this season. Kokemiller had an impressive time of 1:23.00 in the 100 yard breaststroke. It was good enough for 4th place. She hopes to improve her time in next week’s Regional meet in order to qualify for State.
Boone will travel to Johnston on Saturday, November 1st for the Regional swimming meet. They have high hopes of their 200 yard Medley relay qualifying for State.
