The Boone Drill Team is looking forward to dance their way to the top and make an impression down in Wells Fargo on Friday, December 4. Seniors Erin Kinne, Sarah Heiler, and Kennedy Bass look to lead the rest of the team to success.
“The other two seniors and I are the team captains, so we help lead practices and kind of set the pace and the attitude of the team,” said Heiler.
Last year they presented a strong performance and look to build off of that success. “We are improving by working on our team relationship. This year we are hoping to place,” said Kinne.
The team has been practicing every Thursday, sometimes they have an occasional practice on Sundays. “We've started having extra practices throughout the week, and we just keep going over and cleaning up our routines,” said Heiler. Also with those practices they have been performing at football games, assemblies, and other pep events. They will be performing during halftime of the boys basketball game on December 1 in Boone.
The drill team girls will be perform hip hop at 2:10 pm, and pom at 3:53 pm on December 4. Make sure to come out and support the drill girls, as the seniors look to lead them to the top of the podium.
