Boone Boy’s Basketball has had a rough start to their season falling to an 0-2 start with tough games against Newton and Ballard. After a rather dismal start defensively for Boone, allowing Newton to score 75 points, they picked it up only allowing 57 points against Ballard. Offense and foul trouble have been putting the Toreadors in a rough situation, as starters John Herrick and Danny Anderson have fouled out of both games.
For Marshalltown, their offense is lead by senior Aaron Hauser and sophomore Luke Appel, both putting up an impressive amount of points through their first three games. Although the Bobcats don’t do anything all that special, they are a pretty well rounded team and look to get their first win against Boone as well. One of the Bobcats strengths are in rebounding, they were able to score 11 offensive rebounds in their last game against Waukee.
Boone’s junior guard Ethan Lewis is showing how much the offseason can benefit your game. He’s put up 19 and 18 points through the first two games and looks to lead the Toreadors offensively. Defensively, Anderson and junior Lane Losh look to anchor Boone by energizing and motivating the team.
Boone travels to Marshalltown on December 15th at 7:30pm.
