The Toreadors will be traveling to Ballard this Friday to face the Ballard Bombers. Boone will strive to keep their 5 game winning streak alive. Boone is going into this matchup ranked 8th in 3A with a 5-1 record. The Toreadors are going to have to bring their best against the Bombers offense.
After coming off of a nice homecoming win, Boone hopes to keep playing strong defense that leads to a successful offense. “We will be watching a lot of film to prepare for the game,” said senior Colbey Wadsworth. Wadsworth mentioned the Ballard running game saying, “We haven’t really faced anyone with size and speed yet.”
Boone has been playing very well on both sides of the ball the past two games. Offensively speaking, they have been able to gain yardage in multiple ways. Boone’s run game has been very strong lately, lead by senior quarterback Tanner Schminke. The offensive line has been effective in creating space for the Toreadors to break off big runs. Just when the defense collapses on the run game, Schminke uses his arm to exploit the secondary. Boone’s prolific offense should gain plenty of yards.
The Toreadors have been able to keep opposing offenses by forcing 3-and-outs as well as turnovers. Boone has little to no weakness on their defense. They have a strong defensive line and an equally as strong secondary. The defense is held together by the middle line backer, Colbey Wadsworth. Wadsworth is leading the team in tackles.
The game kicks off at 7:30 in Huxley.
