The Boone Volleyball team finished the regular season and enters postseason play with a record of 11-23. Their opponent Tuesday, October 25 in Webster City will be the Lynx from Webster City.
The Lynx enter this matchup one game above .500 at 15-14. They’re coming off a dominant win against Storm Lake where they took the match in 3 sets. Webster City is led by senior Taylor Schnathorst who has 242 kills and 19 aces.
This attack heavy Lynx team will be looking to take it to the ‘Dors right out of the gates.
Boone is getting a long rest in having played their last game in Bondurant-Farrar suffering a loss at the hands of the Blue Jays. The Jays successfully took the sweep but Boone is feeling confident about their next match with Webster City.
“I’m confident that our defense will go all out, going after every ball and that our offense will show up and hit some balls away,” said junior setter Jessica Lewis.
Head Volleyball coach Danielle Schmidt is hopeful about her team, “We have to show up and leave everything on the floor. We need to serve aggressively and attack their back row,” she continued “I’d like to see us return to the regional final and reach the potential that we’ve seen in practice.”
The matchup is set, the Boone Toreadors will square off against the Webster City Lynx on October 25th in the 2nd round of regionals.
