This upcoming Saturday, the Boone Boys Soccer team is heading to Ames for their first games of the season. At the Invitational the ‘Dors will play two games. First, they will take on the Little Cyclones from Ames. Then later on in the day they will take on Cedar Rapids Prairie.
The new Boone team is coming strong off of last years 8-7 record. However, they did lose their top five players, but have nine varsity letterman returning. The Toreadors take on the Little Cyclones first. Ames is looking to continue the streak of good seasons as they went 12-4 last year. The Little Cyclones lost nine players last year, three of them were top players.
In the second game the ‘Dors take on the Cedar Rapids Prairie. The Hawks are coming off of an excellent season as they went 14-3. Cedar Rapids lost nine players and two of them had big impacts on last season. Senior leader
Jake Escher is ready for the tough competition, “Both teams that we are going to play are going to be tough but we have been working hard and preparing for them. We will have a good chance I think.”
The soccer team takes the field at 10:00 in the morning at the Ames High School then play again at 1:00 in the afternoon.
