Winning, high teammate chemistry, and a cornerstone coach- those are a few words to describe the Boone Toreadors boys tennis team and what it is today. This year’s team will look to have yet another great season as they finished off last year going 11-2 and sent then senior Paul Soloman and Junior Danny Anderson to the state tournament in doubles. Now senior Danny Anderson and Ethan Patterson will look to lead the Toreadors in the right direction this year.
With eight returning lettermen, four in which are sophomores, this year's talent isn’t expected to drop off at all. These sophomores include Corbin Wafful, Mason Hulse, Cody Frame, and Jackson Zehr.
Many players this year will look to top off what success they had last year as junior Andrew Troe will look to be in the top three, another junior looking for a top five spot is junior Caden Burkamper as he had a very successful sophomore year earning him a varsity letter.
Anderson will be the number one varsity player on the ladder for his second year in a row, he’ll look to put his finishing touches on what has been a very long and successful career.
Boones top ten varsity players will be coming in this year with loads of experience and will look to have yet another very successful year under head coach Jeff Wells tenure. Boone will look to capitalize on what very little mistakes they had last year, such as their first match of the year against Pella losing just 4-5.
Boone Boys tennis will have its organizational meeting Thursday March 3rd in Mr. Well’s room after school.
