With the end of the basketball season comes the end of the winter cheer season. The winter cheerleaders are handing in their pom poms until next year.
The basketball cheerleaders brought their game faces all season to bring Boone High spirit to the gym’s atmosphere. The cheerleaders, along with the student section, have accomplished a lot this season for the level of school spirit and dedication.
However, some spirit is leaving Boone High. Longtime senior varsity cheerleaders Erin Kinne and Kennedey Bass are both to continue on to the University of Iowa next year. Male cheerleader, senior Zeke Pearson will be attending Iowa State University.
The wrestling cheerleaders have also come to the end of their season. The cheerleaders brought their own spirit to the mat to cheer on the Boone High wrestlers. The varsity wrestling cheerleaders also had the opportunity to cheer on sophomore wrestler Mason Hulse at the state wrestling tournament this year.
Some senior wrestling cheerleaders are leaving the mat as well. Seniors Joaquin Brannan, Macie Camenish, Camryn Wigert, Alexis Stensland, and Claire Moline will all be graduating this year. Brannan and Wigert will be attending DMACC, Camenish will be attending Iowa State University, Stensland will be serving in the Navy, and Moline will be attending the University of Iowa.
After a season full of high enthusiasm and spirit, returning members and new incomers are looking forward to another season of cheer next year.
