It is finally back, all the Boone ‘Dor’s get ready, the time is coming for the season to start. The Boone Junior Varsity and Varsity baseball team meeting was Wednesday, April 20th.

The Toreadors fared very well last year, finishing in the top four teams in state. Their run was ended with a loss coming at the hands of the state champions, the Waverly Shell Rock Go-Hawks.

This year, the Toreadors hope to keep the same success from last year. They have ten returning lettermen, seven returning starters, and seven seniors.

Boone Head Coach Charlie Eastlund wants the team to buy into the acrostic ‘DORS. ‘DORS stands for: do your best for the team, out hustle our opponent, respect the game, servant leadership, and sacrifice for the team. They have this acrostic to make sure everyone stays humble and doesn’t think they’re above the game.

A couple of other acronyms that the ‘Dors have are ABC’s and BIG. ABC’s means, act big, breathe big, commit big. BIG stands for Breath in Greatness.

At the start of the 2016 season the ‘Dors look to be led by their seniors, live by their acronyms, and get down to business.
