Head Baseball Coach Charles Eastlund says, ”I would like to see guys getting a lot of reps, see hitters getting a lot of at bats, pitchers facing live hitters, competing against ourselves and just giving it our best effort.”
He also said, “For pre-season and our first 3 weeks of practice I want guys to compete hard for positions. I think a lot of the reason for our success last year was because we had guys who were looking to prove themselves. We cannot lose that competitive edge.”
The Toreadors finished the season at state last year with a record of 24 wins and 11 losses, ending their season with a landslide loss to the future state champions, the Waverly Shell-Rock Go Hawks.
They look to keep the winning streak alive against Ballard in Slater on Saturday, and Ankeny Centennial on Sunday.
