Tonight, the Boone Boys Basketball team will look to take on conference rival Adel Desoto-Minburn for a third time this season. Although it’s gone the Tigers way the last two games, the Toreadors will look for postseason revenge in the first round of the playoffs.
The Toreadors are coming off what may be their best game offensively this year, shooting a season high 65% from the field. In their last game, Boone’s starters were stellar, with all starters in double figures, led by sophomore guard Trevor VanPelt with 17 points, shooting three for three from deep. The Toreadors will look to force turnovers and run in transition to get easy buckets.
ADM hasn’t let off since the last meeting, winning their last two games with by close margins. The Tigers will look to their guards, Payton Conrad and Tajen Ross, as they have had success scoring the ball against Boone’s defense. As ADM has had success on the offensive side of things, they’ll look to clean up their defense in order to win this playoff matchup.
Boone has had a rough second half to their season, only winning one of their last eight games, while ADM has been hot winning four of their last five. This game will come down to defense as both teams are sound on offense. The outcome depends on who can get fast breaks off turnovers and stops on defense.
The Toreadors will travel to ADM to take on the Tigers in a first round playoff game tonight, Monday, February 22nd. Tip off is at 8:00 pm.
