The 2014 Football season has came to an end. This season isn't what the team wished for but even though the scores didn't go in their favor, didn't mean they didn't make memories.
Boone ended the season with an unacspected 1-8 record.
The Toreadors did have some successful players out on the gridiron. Jaymen Tedrow, Ashton Clemons, Ryan Dighton, and Dillon Calkins’ on field performances stood out from the rest of the team and was worthy of 1st team All District selections. John Devries, Danny Anderson, and Tanner Schminke also were recognized by receiving Honorable Mention All District.
The Toreador defense was did have some high points on the year. Ryan Dighton, one of the 1st Team All District members lead the Toreadors in tackles with 103. Clemons was right behind him with 99. Clemons had three interceptions on the year leading the team and district, he also averaged 9.3 yards after the interception. He also picked up four fumbles on the year which was second in the state.
Even though the scores didn't go in Boone’s favor, they did still have some highpoints in the rushing and passing game. Tanner Schminke came close this season to hitting 2000 total yards but was just 3 yards short. Jaymen Tedrow another 1st Team All District member rushed for 809 yards on the season, while averaging 5.4 yards per carry. Daniel Anderson was one of the Dors’ most underrated receivers. He ran for a total of 539 yards after the catch and averaged 14.2 yards. Anderson Also ran in for six touchdowns.
Some players also had some success in the classrooms. Eight seniors, four juniors, and three sophomores were worthy of Academic All District.
