Boone Boys Basketball will square off against a stellar Adel Desoto-Minburn team. With both teams coming off back-to-back losses, and with the season rolling to an end, both teams are in win-now situations. Boone’s past games all have been hard fought ones- some resulting in wins- and now these last few games are vital. ADM’s season has been great so far, starting off with a 7-2 record through their first nine games.
The first meeting between these two teams was a back a forward game, in the end, ADM came out on top with a final score of 63-55. The Tigers were led by juniors Tajon Ross and Payton Conrad each pouring in 17 points. The Tigers had a good first quarter outscoring the Toreadors 15 to four, and they were able to keep the momentum for the rest of the game.
Boone is coming off a rough stretch, only winning one of the last five games. With sophomore forward John Herrick out with an injured ankle, they’ll look at junior guards Ethan Lewis and Tanner Schminke to pick up the slack on both sides of the ball.
This game will come down to defense as ADM played the number one ranked Pella recently, giving up 93 points. The Toreadors will look to play just as good of defense as the last couple of games,as they only allowed 65 points against Winterset and 59 against Bondurant.
Boone boys basketball battle the ADM Tigers on February 5th. Tipoff is at 7:30 pm, come support the Toreadors on senior night!
