Coach Keisel is looking forward to a new season with the Toreadors, “With the group of girls coming back and the new girls joining the team, our goals are to get as many events to the state meet as possible and finish as top five, and win conference for the second year in a row.”
The Toreadors finished fourth at state last season and had three state champions. “This season we need to find replacements for the girls that graduated. Returning girls and new girls have an opening to fight for the spots.”
Junior Dianna Slight, a returning 400m state champion, is looking forward for track season to start and is excited to try to improve her times from last year. “I think it will be a good season. We have a lot of good returning members and some newcomers that will make a positive impact on the season.” Her goals are to get the opportunity to qualify for the Drake and state track meet, improve times from last year, and hopefully win conference as a team again. She is planning to give her best effort for every practice and staying positive.
The Toreadors first meet will be on March 7th at Cedar Falls.
